CHAMPIONSHIPS RULES

FORMS COMPETITION

All competitors must have a, traditional martial arts uniform with belt in all competitions.

All forms will be judged on a basis of rank and ability i.e. stance, snap, concentration, attitude and abillity, not on the correctness of the form. One’s style idea of correctness can very from another. Therefore forms will only be judged on the fore mentioned qualities.

SPARRING COMPETITION

Color Belt
Full gear must be worn, Head gear, Hand gear, Foot gear, Groin cup and Mouth piece must be worn during all free sparring matches.
No open hand techniques or back fists will score for a point but may be used as faking techniques.
  1. Color belt sparring will be most points in 2 minutes.
  2. Point areas will be chest and sides of the body with reverse punch. Well controlled kicking techniques will score to the face mask area and sides of the head. Also well, controlled kicking techniques will score to the sides of the body, abdomen and chest or solar plexus. Excessive contact will result in a warning followed by disqualification.
  3. Any competitor or instructor showing willful disrespect to judges or other competitors will be immediately disqualified.
  4. Any competitor arguing or challenging the center referee will be immediately disqualified.
  5. Intentional contact with drawing of blood will be immediate disqualification. If the judges conclude by unanimous decision that the injured competitor’s injury was cause by walking or leaning in to the technique, there will be no disqualification and both competitors may resume the match.
Black Belt
3 minutes or five points.
All rules for color belt apply although face punch with control is a point technique. Judges must use discretion in deciding on excessive contact even when blood is drawn. It must be a unanimous decision to disqualify a competitor. If a competitor walks into an attack and is injured the match may continue if all judges and the competitor agree to continue.

BREAKING COMPETITION

All boards including children and adults must be purchase at the tournament to insure fairness in the competition. All boards children and adult will be the same quality.
Children under 5 may purchase 4 inch wide boards if available.
Children 8 and under may use ¼ inch boards.
Children 9 to 12 may use minimum ½ inch boards or 2, ¼ inch boards.
Children 13 and up must use, minimum, 1 inch boards or 2, ½ inch boards per station.

Judging
Judging of breaking will be primarily on the degree of difficulty of the break and number of tries to success.

Color belts and Blackbelts under 18
Any number of boards 2 stations, 2 tries each station.

Black belts (adults)
Any number of boards 3 stations 2 tries each station.

Masters
Any number of boards 3 stations disqualification after 1st mistake.
